"Great job Lilly!" I yelled. I walked to the jump and raised it to 4 foot. "Ok he may be somewhat entemidated so give him a light nudge just before he takes off so he doesn't change his mind about jumping it".

"Ok!" I said. I was really excited about the 4-footer, as I had been hoping to get him up to this. He didn't try to run out or refuse, he just sort of hesitated. I gave him a little nudge though, and he flew over it, but just touched the top bar with his hoof. I was really excited though, and tried it again. He made it this time, though he hesitated again. This is going to be great!

"Great!!!" Ok we're going to do a course of 3 -4 foot jumps then move on K? i ran around and set up jumps as 3 3and a half and 4 foot. "Ok circle and do the course i want two good clean rounds!"

"Great!" I say. I am SUPER excited. (I would say uber, but...  ) I circle him at a trot but as we move toward the jumps he breaks intoa canter, feeling my excitment. I halt and back him a few steps. I then turn him around and go back to the beginning. This time, he doesn't rush, and gets a clean round! We try again, but he tries to run out on one of the 4-foot jumps. I take him back to the beginning and try again. We soar over ever one! |

"Great Job!!" "He's doing very well!" I walk and set the jumps back on the rail except one and raise it to 4 and a half. "Alright be very careful about him runnign out he may be a bit emtimidated".

"Okay!" I say. The 4.5ft fence looks huge, but shen I think about it, it's really not that big. I'm taller than it, I think. I reinforce my thoughts with leg aids and rein aids. He responds perfectly to the combination of both and flies over it!

"Ok!" I say. I take him over the jump again and he does beautifully! I walk him around to keep him warmed up as she sets up the course. "Are we going to get to do oxers?" I ask her.

I turn to Lilly as i set up the jumps. "Yep we're putting them in on this course". I finish and stand back. "Ok you know what to do!"

I smile and say, "Yeah!" I trot him in a circle and we head to the course. The first one's a really easy jump, just 3ft. Then a bigger one, then an oxer. Then two easy ones, a 4 and a half ft vertical then another oxer. He knocks down the first oxer, but not not the second one. Other than that, he does GREAT!

"Yeah," I agree, "he's not used to oxers, but he learns quickly." We try the course again, but this time with a clean round.

"Great!!" i start moving the fences again and set the next one at 5 foot. "Ok there ya go hang on tight and give hima a nudge!"

OK, no higher than this though, I'm a little scared!" I say, I canter him this time, so I can get more speed. Knight runs out. Completely. No stopping him. Woosh! I fall out of the saddle, and he over to me. He's adorable! I get back on and we try again. We make it this time, though!
