Rolling Hills Stable

Thanks Kiki!

I walked into the barn and grained all my mares then went and brought Montie in to ride. I came back to the mares and put Rose,Patty, Addy,Missy,Sally and everyone sept May on the hotwalker and turned may out to graze. I walked into the feed rooma nd got two buckets og graina nd took one to the north pasture for Lancer who came trotting up i placed it inside and went to the west pasture and gave the other butcket to Ripple. i went back to the stable and took the mares off the hotwalker and turned them out to graze. i went into the stallion barna dn saw Bo sleeping outside Monties stall. I smiled and groomed and tacked Montie up and lead him to the arena and mounted. We warmed up and did some circles and half circles i had a few small jumps set up and trotted him over them then cooled him out and untacked him and hosed him down then turned him out to graze. I went back into the office and wrote myself anote. then grabbed the lunge line and went to work with Lancer. i went up to the north pasture and went inside Lancer came up too me and i rubbed his fohead avoding his eyes and turned adn walked to the round pen with him following. We went inside and i closed the gate. I went to thje center and sqaured my shoulders and started him in the eyes he moved away slowly coonfused. I flicked the line out at him and he went cantering around me. he went around about 4 time before showing signs of join-up. i relaxed and he came in to me and sniffed my shoulder i turned and rubbed his forhead with out eye conntact. we walked around and i stopped and rubbed his head again and then ran my hand down his neck then his leg and across his back down his back leg and the same on the other side. i pulled a treat out of my pocket and offered it to him. he took it and then i lead him back up to the North pasture. i walked back donw and got a bottle of water out of the fridge and sat in my office with Bo.

i came in early on Pete and dismounted. i gave him a pat and hitched him up to the hitching post and went to the barns. i got the grooming stuff and headed for Will."hi boy!haw are ya doing?"i said. i put him in cross-ties and groomed him.then i tacked him up for cutting and unclipped the cross ties. i mounted him and rode him to the arena. we warmed up then quickly i dismounted and put up the cow. quickly i mounted again and rode him up to it. we did tight circles around it at a walk and trot then rode up to it at a canter then practised riding up at a canter but slowing to a trot as quickly as possibleand going around it. he did great!i patted his neck then went back to the stables and i untacked him. he wasn't sweaty so i didn't hose him off. then with the grooming supplies i went to reb.i put hi in cross-ties andgroomed him. then i got his tack and put it on him then mounted after unclipping the crossties. we rode to the opsticales arena and i warmed him up cantering around the ring twice and trotting it once.then we did the tip bridge and the rocky path. then the stone wall and paper bags and the maze of trees. then i cooled him off and untacked him back at the stables. i hosed him off then went to Pete and mounted him and rode to the stables.

I passed Kiki i went down to the stables. "Wow you are up early!" i waved my thanks and went to grain all my mares. I finished ad made sure they all had water and hey then went to turn Reb and Will back out. I went and got Benn out of the pasture alexis still hadn't been to ride hima dn he was getting fat. i put him in a stall then went to put Rose,Twist,Patty,Missy,Liana,addy,Sally on the hotwalker i turned May,Maryjane, and Glory out to graze. i went back to the stallion barn with Bo at my heels. i went and got a grooming box and Benns tack. i groomed and tacked him up. I mounted and went into the arena and warmed him up, we did half circles at trot and canter then figure 8's at trot and canter. We did a few flying lead changes then some shoulder In. We stopped and i walked him till he was cool. i untacked him and hosed him down, then turned him out. I went and took the mares off the hotwalker and turned them out. i went into the office and saw Bo drinking some water i looke dat the couch where Rafi and Nelli where sleeping on top of each other worn out from running around. i went and got two buckets of grain and got the rescue remidy. i went to the north pasture where Lancer came up sniffing for his grain i set it down for hima dn put more rescue remidy in his water. i took the other bucket to Ripple and feed her. i came back to the barn and look at the horses i still had for sale. it was too hot to work with Lancer yet.

I got up and got a lunge line and a halter. i set the halter at the round pen and went to get Lancer. i walked into the North pasture adn Lancer came walking up to me a i offered a horse cube witch he took and crunched. i rubbed his head and walked threw the gate with him following we got to the pen and we started i sent him away from me with square shoulders and Staring eyes. he showed the sings and i let him come into me and i rubbed his head and went over his body with my hands. i went and got the halter which i offered to him too sniff. i rubbed it all over his body then slowly slipped it on. i put it ona lose setting and let him stand with it. he shook his head and when he found it didn't come off he started to buck i stood back and let him get it out of his system. he stopped and walked toward me i rubbed his head and he sighed. I slowly took the halter off then put it back on several times. i walked arudn the pen with Lancer following. i opened the gate and walked him back up to his pasture i tightened the halter a little more then gave him one more head rub and left. i came back to the barna dn went into my office to find Rafi and Nelli had disapeared. Bo had not moved far though!

i came in on my bike and parked in front of the stables. then i went into the stables and to the tackroom where i got Reb's tack and the grooming supplies. i went to his stall where he was laying down."Reb, get up!"i said laughing. lazily he puched himself."well, looks like it's going to be grooming frenzy around here!" i said looking at his coat. i put him into cross ties and groomed him till his coat once again shone. then i saddled him and unclipped the cross ties. i mounted him and rode him to the trail opsticale ring. Mango had told me that he was having a small problem with the pine tree weaving. so i was going to work with him on that. i warmed him up then took him through a pine tree "forest". then once he got used to it i satrted to weve him using direct reining. he refused it the first time but when i dismounted and led him through it he did fine. then i mounted and id it with direct reining. when he got it right i used neck reining. he did awesome! i patted his neck then cooled him out. then we rode back to the stables where i untacke dhim and washed him off. then i put him in his stall. then i went to Will. i groomed him then tacked him up. i rode him to the forest. i decided to take him on a trail ride instead. i trotted him through the first part but seeing a largew stump sped him up to a canter and we flew over the stump. then we went over a creek then i slowed him to a walk. then unexpectably a cross country course came near. i gave him his head into a canter again then jumped the course. we finished with 2 faults then we turned home. when we reached the stables i untacked him and hosed him off. then i rode back to Shining Star on my bike.

I walked down to the stable adn grained all my mares. i made sure they all had water and hay. I walked out and grained Lancer in teh north pasture then went and brought Benn and Montie in and gave them a small amount of grain. I walked back to the mares adn put everyone who was pregnate on the hotwalkre and turned Glory,Maryjane, Missy, and Rose out with there foals. i walked back and gave Rafi and Nelli some food and fed Bo. I walked and got Benn out and groomed and tacked him up. I mounted and went to the hill behind the stable and warmed him up at the bottum he had gained some weight and lost mucle so i trotted him up the halfmile long hill. We reached the top in about 5-6 minutes and Benn was winded. i walked him till he wasn't breathing heavy anymore then walked down the less steap side of the hill. we got back to the stable and i untacked him and put him on the hotwalker for extra exercise. I went and got Montie out and groomed and tacked him up.i mounted and went to the same hill Montie pranced knowing that he was about to run i gave him a quik warm-up and kissed to him we flew up the hill at a gallop. we reached the top and i slowed Mont down. we walked downt he hill and i untacked him and put him on the hotwakler with Benn i went and took the mares off and turned them out to graze. i went and got a bridal,lead and lunge line i dropped the lunge line and bridal at the round pen and went to get Lancer. I walked into the pasture and he came cantering up stopping 5 ft infrount of me. i smiled and rubbed his forhead i clipped the lead onto his halter and lead him threw the gate and down to the round pen. i lead him in and unclipped the lead and got the lunge line and went to the center. i flicked the line at hima dn he went cantering around. he showed signs of join-up after 5 mintues and i let him come in. we walked around the pen and i went and grabbed the bridal. i showed it too him and rubbed it over his body then put the reins over his head and slipped it on it was a hackmore so i didn't ahve to worry about a bit. to him it felt liek a halter with strings i put long-reins on his hackmore and did some turning work with him. we stopped and i put his halter back on i hung the hackmore on the rail and clipped the lead rope to the halter. i lead him back up too the pasture and turned him loose. i walked back down and put the lunge line, lead, and hackmore away. i walked into the office where i found Bo sleeping on the floor with Nelli and Rafi curled up on the couch. i sat down to fill out everything for Rebel Yell.

i came up on my newly purchased horse,Churchill.i jumped down and found a rope to tie him up to the post."bye boy!be back in a while!"i said and walked to Will's stall."hi boy!haven't seen you in a while!"i said starting to groom him.i tacked him up and mounted. i rode him to the indoor arena and warmed hhim up. then we trotted to the cow and did neck and direct reining."good boy,"i said as i satrted racing from one end of the ring to the other. then i cooled him off and untacked him. then i went and groomed Reb.i tacked him up and mounted. i went to the indoor ring and set up some oxers. i warmed REb up and we started.we just walked over the first one! i turned him sharply for the 2 footer and hopped over. we finished and i cooled him off. then we went back to the stables where i untacked him and regroomed him. then i went to Churchill and hopped on and rode off.

i rode up on Missy and jumped off. i tied her to the post and walked into the barn."hey Mikki!"i said catching her walking past with Nite. i walk down the aisle and to the tack room and got Reb's tack.i walked to his stall and groomed him. then i tacked him up and mounted him. we rode to the trail with opsticales and i satrted to trot Reb.we went over the poles with paper and plastic bags in the middle and other opsticles. we returned ho,me in an hour and i rode Will to. then i jumpoed up onto Missy and rode back home.

I dorve in with Bo in the back barking to alert the horses that we where there. i grinned and got out and let the tail gate down. He jumped down and went racing off with Ginger who had rode in the cab with me. I walked to the mare barn adn grained the mares i had left i had sold around 4 of them sadly. i went into the stallion barn adn put feed in the troughs and brought in all the stallions then went into the yearling/ weanling barn and grained all of them. I went into the office to see Rafi and Nelli chasing each other i smiled and gave them fresh water and some food. I went out and turned May, Liana, Addy and Frisky out to graze and put the rest on the hotwalker. I put my stallions out and went to work with my weanlings. i did all my stud colts then did Cheval who was doing great and i was proud to own her. I went into the office to start pairing my mares for there next breeding.

i cantered up the drive on Beuty then slide her to a halt at the sight of a wolf in front of us!"easy girl, its ok, easy there," i said as the wolf drew nearer and she started side stepping and prancing. "you know what we gotta do girl, just rear up and we'll be fine," i told the frightened mare.i grabbed hold of her mane and first leaned back as she rose up pawing the air then i sat forward and hugged her neck as not to fall of on her slipperry back.she came down with a thud inches from the wolfs nose. the wolf gave a whimper then bounded of into the forest."good girl Beuty,"i say. i jump off and stroke her neck for a minute to calm her down. i made sure do do an easy quick release knot in case the wolf came back. then i went into the barn and got Will's tack and grooming things. i walked to his stall and said," hey boy!ready to have some fun?"i asked. i laughed as he gave a small buck of joy. i groomed him and saddled the stallion then mounted him outside. i walked him to the runway i had found close to the street but still closed in.halfway there i satrted trotting him untill we reached the place. then i cantered Will to one end then galloped him to the other. trotting him to the other end we sprinteed our way back."good job Will!"i said patting his sweaty neck. i heard his hevy brething so i trotted him back to the stable and to his stall. i dismounted him and stored away his tack then gave him a good hosing down after that. then i went to the tack room and got the grooming supplies and Reb's tack too. "hey Reb! hope your ready for a good workout!"i say as i start grooming his scruffy coat. i tack him up when he's all shiny and mount him outside. i take him to a ro8und pasture with nobody in it and i planned to start there. we walk halfway then trot halfway and when we reach it i canter Reb around the pasture once. then i line Reb up with the "jumping line" of fallen logs and bushes.i satrt galloping Reb for the jumps were all high. the first log we bounced over and the brush jump was easy for him. after we gracefully landed from the log with the watering bucket on the other side i heard his shirll whinny for more challenge."ok, ok, you win, ill take you over the bigger jumps,"i said and turned him to the more challenging line. we had a hard hitting tree that he jumped with inches to spare. i turned him slightly for the wider river flowing through the pasture. i don't think Reb got the picture that he needed to jump it for he just splashed right through it. i rolled my eyes with a sigh as wqe jumped the last bush. then i cooled Reb out and untacked him back at the stables. i washed him off good then put him in his stall. then i went to Beuty and seeing that the wolf hadn't come back jumped upon her broad back and sped home.

i came in on Jack and rode Reb and then too them swimming in the pond. then i came back and put them in their stalls and i rode home on Jack.

I pulled the truck door shut and jumped out I saw mango heading into the ofice and smiled to myself.
Tightining up my braid I went to the eighth stall from the left were mango told me Extrordanry glow would be waiting.
I shighed thinkking of mangi that said she couldnt help me load Glow on since it was to hard for her to say good by like that I grabed the leadrope that i brought along with me aand the lavndrer oil working over her body with small circles I watched the perky weanling doze off to sleep.
Once i was sedesfied was the ease flowing in the air i sliped on the halter nuging it a bite i walked her forward unbolting the stall dor i lead her to the trailor were Red who requsted to join alreaddy put dwon the ramp.
waving at hime he helped me haule her in and turn the ramp shut.
Do you want to ride back with her? he asked his red hair shining in the sun.
Sure i smiled and opned the door to find the lovley mare chuck dwon her water.
Standing at her side i bistroud words of comfert in her ears.
not stoping even when i felt the ground under me rattel.
