Riding at Flying Music Stables

[Mikki]

I walked into the Stallion barn and flipped the lights on. I grabbed Auto's halter and walked through his stall into his paddock. When he saw me he whinnied and trotted up. I slipped his halter on and led him into the barn. I hooked him on a set of crossties and walked into the tackroom.

"Where did I put your grooming box, Auto?" I asked, more talking to myself than the horse. I found it in his tack trunk and brought it out and started grooming him.

i came riding up on Pirate bareback onto Mikki's driveway."hi Mikki!"i called out. "you wanna come on a hack with me and Pirate?"i asked.i patted Pirate and rode him up to where Mikki was."we were going to go to the lake."

[Mikki]

"I'd love to," I called, "I just need to get Auto tacked and I'll be right out! You can ride in the ring while you're waiting."

I hurried through the grooming and ran into the tack room to get the stallion's tack.

[kiki]

"sure!"i trotted Pirate to the ring and did a little things. we cantered and did some trot poles that were there. then i rode back to the driveway.

[Mikki]

I led Auto out and mounted. "Any plans? I have a full cross country course here, and some decent trails."

[kiki]

"let's check out the cross-coutry course!"i said."Pirate's not trained, but i bet we can manage"i explained.i moved Pirate into a slow galop as Mikki started to disappear.

[Mikki]

I cantered Auto to the starting box and reined him in. "Want to do a real start or just hack it? I have jumps for all levels, so if you don't want to jump him you can go around them, or take whatever height you like. I'm going low, it's only Auto's second time out here."

[kiki]

"ill go low to."i said, reining Pirate to a halt.

[Mikki]

"How about we just hack it? We can go side by side and just takeit slow that way," I said. Auto pranced while I waited for an answer.

[kiki]

"ok,"i said. i warmed Pistae up and started the course with Miki.

[Mikki]

Auto rushed the first fence and bucked afterward, causing me to lose my balance. "Easy, boy," I snapped at him, and when he was back under control I rubbed his neck and crooned. "He doesn't get out much," I explained.

[kiki]

"i see,"i said understandingly.i took Pirate over thejump with ease, but he brushed thetop of the rail. i turnedaround in the saddle seeing the rail hadn't fallen.i turned aroiund seeing the next jump below us. Pirae had cleared it perfectluy!i gave him a pat and went to the next double wingedbrush jump.Pirate took a little bit of leaves off. i saw him starting to lather a little at hishocks and check crease."Pirate's getting tired so ill take him back. nice seeing you Mik!bye!"i turned Pirate aroundand headed for ome.

I waved and called, "bye," and continued over the course. Auto went well, if a little flighty.
