the start of big breeding

i walked to the stallion barn and got Phoenix. i groomed him and led him to the round pen.i unclippede his lead and let him go around the pen.i saw nervousness rise in his eyes and he started prancng. the book said to make large circles and make noises. so i went around him and clapped at the same time. then i waited to see his reacdtion. he walked around me and stopped. after a few minutes i raised my head and squared out my body. it turned around as Phoenix started walking around me. i saw slight licking and chewing,and i saw his ear twitch twoards me. then, finnally, he lowered his head. i let out my breath and turned my back to him and let my head drop.i waited and i heard some scuffing of sand wich meant he was coming. slowly i turned around to him.without making eye contact and reached out my arm.he sniffed it, and slowly i raised my head. i swept my hand over his back and neck. he nickered and i walked around to the other side of the pen. Phoenx followed. i went to his halter and lead. he followed.i picdked up his halter and rubbed it around his body. then i slowly slipped it on and clipped on the lead.i led him back to the stables and turned him out in his runway.then i went to Envy. i groomed him then clipped on his lead line for lunging. we went through all the speeds then i turned him out with Phoenix. i turned out the rest of the horses out and same with the mares.

i came into the mare barn with Buddy following behind. i saw Prince and Leah dash into the lounge. i went down to the whiteboard and saw what i needed to do:

Do Join-Up with Cisco, Phoenix,River, Envy, and Dawn.Shower Pete, Fable Gal, and Sherrif.Ride Nevada, Sundance, and Rus. Muck out stallion stalls. Clean all tack but saddles.

"ok, then,"i sighed.i walk to the third aisle and on the left the first stall was Cisco's.i come up to her slowly with her halter and lead in hand.i grab a carrot and let her snack on it while i get her haltyer nd lead on.i lead her out of the stall and outside into the round pen. i take off her halter and lead and hang it onto the rail.i let her get into the center then i start circling her and scuffing the ground while clapping. she squared her legs and fear grew into her big eyes.i slowly stop and get into the center. i square my shoulders and move around in tyight circles raising my head every now and then. after a while she starts licking and in a moment her head was lowered and was chewing too.i slowly walk up to Cisco and raise my head.i reach out my hand and Cisco sniffed it, then i rubbed her star. then i rubbed my hand all over her body. after a few minutes i turned her out in the pasture right behind the pen. i pick up her lead and halter and put them in the tack room. then i get a drink from the lounge. then i head to River. i do the same thing as i did with Cisco and repeated it with Phoenix, Envy, and dawn. then i look to the next thing. iu go to the stallions and to Pete's stall. i clip on his lead and bring him to a wash stall. i put him in cross ties then warm up the water. Pete has never liked cool water. then i squirted some body wash into my hands and washed it over him.i finished and dried Pete off then turned him out.i did the same with Fable Gal and Sherrif. But with Sherrif i mixed in some lavender oil and rubbed it then. then i went to the board to see what was up next.i went to the mare barn and to Nevada's stall.i hooked her up to the trotting harness and i hopped into the sulky. i kissed to her and we did her slow trot to the track. i cantered her around once and walked half way around then i breezed her for a lap in her fast trot.i cooled her out and untacked her then turned her out with Dawn and the other mares.then i went to Sundance.i got her vaulting saddle and bridle and tacked her up. i led her to the ring with a post in the middle and i tied her to it. i jumped onto the post and then mounted Sundance. i walked her, trotted, and cantered, then tried around the world at a canter."steady,"i whispered.i swung my leg over the last time then laid on my back.i lifted one leg then the other. then i walked her and did a handstand on her back. i came down and cooled her out then untacked her back at the stable. then i turned her out. then i went to the stallys and Rus' stall in particullar. i mounted him without tack for natural.i took hold of some of his mane andnudged him in the flanks for a trot. i took him to the outdoor ring and i did figure eights with him at a walk, trot, and canter.then i did some turn exercises then cooled him out. then i turned him out. then i mucked out the mare stalls and cleaned the tack but saddles.i called to the pets and headed back up to the house.

i walk into the stallion barn and to the last stall.there was Churchill, finnally mine.i patted his nose then went into his stall and groomed him. in walked him back outside and to the barrel i used for mounting. i uumped up on it then mounted Churchill for naturel. i squeezed a bit and we trotted and cantered for a while. then i went to the jumping ring and i cantered him around the ring once.then we started jumping the fences. first we went over the in and out, then a water jump, small well, oxers, then the double and lastly the tripple water jumps. the very last water jump we splashed a little."good job Churchill!"i said patting his sweaty neck.we went back to the stable quickly and rounded up all my stallions. even though my little baby Bookster is a gelding, i took him along to. i hookedBookster to my left stirrup and Jack to my left stirrup. then i got Sherrif on the left side of my saddle and Keeper on my right side.i put some tack onto Pete and hooked Pirate on his left stirrup and Beam on his left stirrup. then Phoenix went on the left side and then we weere off.i held onto pete's lead tightly as we trotted through the woods.it was awesome to see all those horses in one place. i looked down to see Bookster cantering wildly to keep up with Churchill.i laughed as the pond cmae in sight.'whoa,"i said. "come on guys!lets get wet!"i said. i dismounted Churchill and untied all the stallions and gelding.we took a swim then went home.i turned them all out and fed everybody.

i came into the mare barn and went to Cisco's stall."hi girl!"i slowlym raised my hand to pet her face but she crib bit before i got my hand to her nose."no,"i said in a stern voiuce. i ran and got her rope halter; it was easiest to work with on her.i slipped it on her after she cooled down and i went into her box stall. i groomed her then turned her out with Sundance and blue.then i walked to River.i was going to ride her for the first time!first i groomed the mare then lunged her to see her gaits.when i saw the perfect gaits i tacked her up for dressage and mounted the halflinger.i rode her to the dressage ring and warmed River up. we did an extended trot then flying change to a collected canter. i gave a sigh of releif as i have had problems doing flying changes from extende to collecxted or the other way around. i paid attention to River as she switched to the wrong lead."no, River, not that way,"i said calmly and corrected her move. then i extended her canter as we did a large figure eight. then we did flying change back to a collected trot then walked her around the arena twice."that was one of the best rides River, and i owe it to you,"i said smiling down at my perfect horse. i patted her hot neck then dismounted her. i untacked her and stored it away. then i hosed her off and turned her out with the other mares.then i walked to Fable Gal. i tacked her up for she ws getting pretty chubby;i hadn't worked with her in a while.i mounted her after grooming and tracking her up and rode her at a trot to the course.halfway through the trail to the course i started cantering Fable Gal.when we reached the course we were ready. i took her over the first water jump like a peice of cake. then we took the hill jump a little more serious. her hoof to a nick out of the brush jump after the hill. then we went over the last jumps and i rode her back home. i untaacked her and groomed her. then i turned her out with the rest of the mares.
