I pull out my lead rope that reads, "American Baby, my 1st problem horse!" It was purple, and just a clip-on... I then got the halter that read, "American Baby, Anglo-Arab, Dapple Grey!" It was black and was also, just a clip-on... I walked toward her slowly, and she started to neigh and whinny! I stopped right where I was, and reached out my hand, which had a nice juicy carrot in it... She looked at the carrot, and then at me, she slowly took it out of my hands and chewed it. I watched and learned what it was that she liked... I slowly approached her with some molasis and, slipping on the halter, quickly clipped it! I had done it! I was so relieved that that part was over. But then came the coaxing out of the stall and into a pasture. I led her silentley over to the pasture and tied her lead rope to a tree. I got out a saddle, and the pads, and put them on her one by one, I then got out the bridle and slipped it on her... I didn't want to mount her today, but yet only get her used to the saddle and bridle... I led her by a bush, over and over again until she didn't flinch... It took 3 hours straight until she didn't mind that it was there! Gosh! I wonder why it took that long? Maybe her owner negleted her fear for bushes and let it grow on her! I led her back to the stall after washing and untacking her, I fed her and gave her a sugar cube and locked the door saying, "You did well today American Baby! I'll see you tommorrow, maybe we'll work on just walking by bushes tommorrow:)"

I waltz into the stable full of hope! She obviously was ready to work on her bucking problem again! She whinnied as if she wanted to get that saddle on her! I opened the gate and got out her halter and lead rope... This time I slowly approached her with a carrot and slipped on the halter... I lead her over to the cross-ties and tied her up... I put the grooming box next to her and took out the curry brush. After currying her, I brushed her. I walked into the tack room and picked up her new saddle that read: American Baby, my 1st problem horse! She's the best! Then I got out her girth and saddle pads that read: American Baby, owned and loved by Sweet! And then I put them on her one by one, just like yesterday! I walked her next to the bush over and over again, for 5 hours, with breaks in between of course! She finally mastered it for one day, then to work on it some more the next! After the 3rd day, I'll work some more with her on walking with the saddle on her! I untacked her and groomed her. I lead her back to the stall and gave her food and water. I unclipped her halter and walked away waving!

I walk in with more confidence then ever! I had trained her not to budge when we walk by a bush, now I was to start her under saddle! I walked into her stall and pulled out her halter and lead rope... I walked to her with a carrot and slipped on her halter. I lead her to the cross-ties and hooked her up. She was already used to getting the saddle put on her... So I mounted up and started to ride her... I saw Mango and waved, proud of what I had accomplished, I went riding by a bush... She tried to buck me off, but noticed that I wasn't falling off, so she settled down... "Whew! Luckily I'm well-balanced and know how to hold my weight!" So after an hour or so, I brought her in and untacked her and groomed her. I lead her back to the stable and fed her... I then left, feeling really proud of myself AND her!

I jog up all out of breath, looking for my horse... I hurridly unlock the gate and put on her halter with a litle coax of a carrot... "Hurry A.B.! These gaurds are chasing me because I accidentally jogged over their flowers!" I said as I mounted on bareback... All she had was her halter... And all I had was hope! I raced her through bushes and over logs, looking back only to see the gaurds right behind me! I tried to slow A.B. down, but she raced as fast as she could, I didn't want to hurt her, but she pushed herself until she outran them! Something told me that she was always the winner of the races... I finally slowed her down and got off... I kissed her and said, "Wow! You are fast, and you jumped and ran by bushes!"

I rode up to Kathi's boarding place on Dove and dismounted watching her with Baby. I dismounted and walked over to where they were training. "Hey, I came to ride Flame a bit and I brought Dove for a visit too. So is that alright? Where is he?"

When Carole rode up and asked me about Flame, I smiled and said, "Hey Carole! Hey Dove! Flame is in the pasture grazing, come to think of it, his time just ended in it, go ahead and visit and ride him if you like. His tack and grooming supplies are in the back:) As for Dove, you may put her in the pasture or in one of the empty stalls:). Hope you have fun with him!" I then pointed toward the pasture where Blue Flame was waiting quietly... After that, I turn back around and mount onto Baby. I tighten the girth and adjust the stirrups, I trot off towards that beach... She started to freak, so I brought her back up to the stables and rode her into the pasture. I figured that I should probably practice with her in there first. I kept on riding around the small pasture, but all of a sudden she spooked! I thought she saw a rabbit, but I was wrong... She had seen a dog. I had just then figured out that she didn't like dogs one bit. But before I could calm her, she bucked me off, I fell right on my bum! I stood up and brushed the dirt off of my pants and led her back to the stables where I cleaned her up, she had kicked the fence and now had a bleeding knee. So I cleaned it up and decided to not ride her for a few weeks... I kissed her goodbye and told her what a great job she did.

I walk in and notice that the stable hands have already tacked her up! So, I told them not to next time, though it was nice of them... I needed to bond with her, no matter what other people said... So I mounted up and rode off. Peering into the dark woods, I spotted Carole and Blue Flame. I waved and smiled, watching them train together, I knew that this was a perfect match! I rode Baby back to the stables and cleaned her up and put her back into the stall...

I walk in with my hair all tied up with ribbons. I have on my favorite riding outfit! I never like to wear it on horses that love to buck people off, but today was the day that I would make her learn who's boss! So I walked in without a sugar cube, she backed into a corner, I didn't find it the least bit surprising. So I grabbed her halter and flung it over my shoulder as I struggled to get a hold of her. I finally did, and then gave her a big pat on the neck and a kiss too! I then put the halter on her, with her manuvering around so much, it was hard to believe this horse could actually be trainable! But I managed to buckle is shut. So I clipped on the lead rope and led her to the cross-ties, where Mango was... I waved to Mango while I tied up Baby. Baby was ready to neigh, until she saw me bring my other horse in, it was Albino Boy! I led him into a stall next to Baby's, and she looked like she had calmed down:) As I brushed my dusty hands on my pants, I grabbed my camera and took a snapshot of the 2 of them together! Then I groomed them and got them ready to be turned out together... Then I put them back into their own stable stalls, and left. But instead of Albino's reg. place, I put him next to Baby...

I walk back in the next day with 2 halters this time! I bring out Baby 1st, then A.B.... I then groom them both and tack up only A.B. Baby looks at me puzzled, yet suspicious... I then put Baby in the turnout arena and ride A.B. in the turnout arena next to Baby. I tacked up Baby, but didn't ride her, I wanted her to see that there was nothing wrong with being ridden, but I also wanted her to get used to another horse being next to her when she was riding... So I jumped off of A.B. and jumped onto Baby... She reacted well! She seemed to take things a lot easier now that she saw A.B. being ridden without a problem:) Another succesful day for all 3 of us!

I walk in and take out both horses, tack both of them up and mount on Albino Boy. I take Baby into the arena and ride around. I jump off Albino Boy and onto Baby. I then ride around the arena 5 times with her and Albino Boy at our side. I then get off, groom, feed, and give them water. I leave...

I walk in with my broken arm and turn her out. Since I couldn't ride yet, I groomed Baby! I fed her and gave her water and watched her as she settled down and rolled in the hay! I stroked her beautiful coat back and forth with the brush. I watched as it became shinier and shinier.

Tears filled my eyes as I watched her buck and kick in her stall. Once a beautiful wonder, now a hurt and confused disaster... I was determined to make her go back to her old self and become perfectley glorious! I couldn't bear to watch her injure herself every time someone walked by. But maybe, instead of pressuring her into it, let her come by herself! I put on her halter and lead, and dropped them, I turned around and waited for her to come out. It took 3 hours, but she came, she was calm and quiet. So far, so good I thought. I then picked up the lead rope and started to walk slowly, waiting for her to tag along, but instead of walking behind me, like she usually did, she walked next to me! WOW! Big change already! I walked slowly to not startle her. And I coaxed her with sugar cubes, carrots, and occasionally, molasis! She accepted it and walked around a bit on my command, then wandered around the arena... O put her back in and smiled. Success feels good!

I pull out the peice of paper that the vet wrote one and did as instructed to do. I took out her halter and slipped it on. I led her out to the pasture and let her graze. I let her tell me when she was ready to move on... Obviously she wanted to cover every square inch of this pasture! I walked her around the building to keep her in shape and stretched out... I led her back into the stables and into the wash-ties where I washed her dusty body. I groomed her and picked her hooves... I gave her a carrot and then led her into her stable after I had mucked it out. I went and got her special feed. Put it in her bowl and filled her water. I kissed her and left!

I walked in and fed her. I took her to the same place I did with Diablo! I let her graze and then I hooked her up to the wash stall. I washed her and then dried her. I brushed her soft coat. I mucked out her stall and put new hay and new Bermuda Hay for her food. I turned on the automatic waterer and led her in...
