I walked into Yoshi's stall to go and take him out to the stallion pasture. His head turned in my direction and he pranced in his eagerness to be let out and to see his other stallion friends. I slipped his halter on quickly and opened the door, Yoshi followed easily. I had been so surprised when Yoshi's old owners (the ones that had foaled him) had said that he was a handful, overeager and always dragging you away to the pasture. With a little discipline (only a little), and alot of love; he had come a long way. Here he stood, having calmly come out of his stall, and would, i knew, calmly walk out to the pasture.

When Yoshi and I got out to the pasture, Orion (one of Yoshi's best friends) ran up to the pasture door to greet him. It was so cute the way the horses had adopted the wave of new horses that had come recently. After leading him into the pasture, Yoshi took interest in a hole in the grass by one of the poles. I stopped to watch him bend his head down to nose the hole, wondering what made him take an unusual interest in this hole. There were plenty of others around the acres of the barn. Yoshi's nostrils were going in and out as if he was trying to smell the hole. He gave a little whinny and suddenly a rabbit jumped out of the hole and onto Yoshi's nose. It quickly slid off, and Yoshi was unharmed, but that didn't stop him. He took off down the pasture, making all sorts of noise, his halter and lead rope still on. The rabbit looked warily at Orion who was still standing there. I ran, laughing all the way, to go catch Yoshi and remove the halter. After i had taken it off, I started walking back to the gate, Yoshi following me of his own accord. When he set eyes on the rabbit he decided to have another sniff cuz he still seemed puzzled as to what it was. ( i guess he thought rabbits dont jump on my face, it must be something else) The rabbit stood still, both seeming to study the other, me and Orion just intruders to their silence. Yoshi put his head down near the rabbit again to see if he could nudge it. The rabbit seeing his chance, bounded onto the top of Yoshi's head, right in between his ears, and lept off of him, running as fast as he could towards safer ground. Yoshi's bewildered look was so funny, I jsut collapsed down to the ground, laughing. Yoshi looked indignantly at me, nudged me hard in the side and then stalked off, as if to say "Oh thanks so much for laughing at me." Orion gave a little nicker and trotted off to catch up to him.
